Taylor Swift Taking Over Everywhere!

Taylor Swift’s new album Red hits stores this coming Tuesday, October 22nd, and the promotional machine is in full force right now with partnerships with major corporations such as Walgreens and Papa John’s in place to help promote the album.

As reported by  Country Aircheck:  The Taylor Swift Store at Walgreens is open for business, “I look forward to sharing my music and merchandise with my fans, and making it easier for them to pick up their favorite items when visiting Walgreens or Duane Reade stores,” Swift says. Merch includes t-shirts, iPhone accessories, bracelets and backpacks. Walgreens will also offer Swift’s new album Red beginning one minute after midnight Oct. 22.

Bob Kingsley from the nationally syndicated Country Top 40 show will be hosting a one hour special for the premier of the album.  It will air the week of October 22-28 (check local radio listings).

Perhaps the most unique partnership will be the one with Papa John’s, where starting October 22nd, you can order a large 1 topping pizza with her new CD for $22.  Swift will also be featured on special pizza boxes and on in-store displays.  Papa John’s will also be sponsoring her “Taylor Swift Worldwide Radio Remote” that will take place in Nashville next week.  Each attending radio station will have part of their travel expenses covered by Papa John’s, and they will each received an autographed red guitar and 20 copies of the album.  No word yet on if any of Florida’s stations will be attending.

Swift will be making the media rounds, with appearances on shows such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, Late Show with David Letterman, and more.

The much-anticipated release of Red, just in time for the holidays, is expected to garner some of the biggest album sales numbers of the year, if not ever.  Will you be buying it?

 

Thompson Square Debuts New Single

Thompson Square’s new single “If I Didn’t Have You” won’t hit radio until October 29th, but you can get a 90 second preview of it now on their website by clicking here!  This will be the first single off of the upcoming new album from Keifer and Shawna Thompson.

“ ‘If I Didn’t Have You’ is a story about two people who rely on each other to get through the tough thing we call life,” explains Keifer. “We all have someone who we can go to for encouragement and this is our story.”

Written by Keifer and Shawna alongside Jason Sellers and Paul Jenkins, “If I Didn’t Have You” was penned by the same foursome that wrote Thompson Square’s award-winning hit single, “I Got You.”

If you’ll be at the 99.9 Kiss Country (WKIS) Stars and Guitars show this Sunday night, odds are you’ll get to hear the full version there!  Thompson Square will also be in Florida in January with Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line, with shows announced for Estero and Orlando to date.

 

Luke Bryan Announces Florida Tour Dates!

Luke Bryan has announced his first ever major-venue headlining tour, albeit an abbreviated one, that will kick off in January and run through the end of winter.  The Dirt Road Diaries Tour spans 20 cities in a little over two months, and currently includes two tour dates in Florida!  Joining Bryan on this tour will be Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line.

The tour kicks of January 17th in Evansville, IN, and hits Florida with shows on January 25th in Estero at the Germain Arena and on January 26th in Orlando at the Amway Center.  Could this be a clue that he could be booked for back-to-back years at the 99.9 KISS Country Chili Cookoff?  The 2013 Chili Cookoff is scheduled for January 27th…he could still be in Florida, so you never know!  I would expect at least one of these bands to be part of the lineup, but we will find out next month when they make the big announcement!

Darius Rucker Reveals Album Release Date

Darius Rucker recently told Broadway, of WKIS, that his new album will be called “True Believers” will be released in January of 2013. Have you heard the title track “True Believers” yet? What do you think of it?
