On Friday it was announced that Carrie Underwood would be starring as Maria von Trapp in a live broadcast of “The Sound of Music” next year on NBC. Maria von Trapp, played by Julie Andrews in the original movie, is the main character of the film. The live broadcast starring Underwood will be a three-hour event based on the original Broadway musical near the holidays in 2013.

Darius Rucker will be appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tomorrow night (Wednesday, December 5th) to promote and perform his latest single, “True Believers.” It is the first single off of his new album by the same name that is due out this coming Spring.

It was recently announced that Jake Owen will be performing in the halftime show of the Orange Bowl (Florida State vs. Northern Illinois) in Miami on January 1st.

It has now been announced that Luke Bryan will be headlining the Orange Bowl Game Fan Zone on January 7th before the BCS Championship game between Notre Dame and Alabama. Tickets to the Fan Zone, which is not included with a game ticket, will be $30.
