Jake Owen started his fan club party by meeting each fan at the door, most with a hug and a “thanks for coming!” He then took his spot on stage and explained to his fans that he’d never been to a fan club party so he hoped he was doing it right. Jake spent time talking about being on the road with Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw, as well as married life and his new wife, Lacey. He also told party-goers that he planned on releasing “Apple Pie Moonshine” or “Settin’ The World on Fire” as the final single off of his current album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night. Jake even took a crowd poll to help make the decision on which would be the final single.
Jake then asked Lacey to have his phone connected into the sound system to share with everyone a preview of the unfinished “Summer Jam.” He proceeded to share with the small crowd that he wanted to release a “Summer Themed” EP and that he’d already began working on material for it including the track he shared with the crowd which features newcomers the Florida-Georgia Line. Jake also told fans he is already working on a 4th album, and is even considering adding “Kiss You Good Morning” to the new album because it’s what he calls “Mom’s favorite song.” “Kiss You Good Morning” is a song that Jake Owen hasn’t released publicly and few fans even know about the song that Owen penned early in his career.
Jake thanked his fans, reminiscing about moving to Nashville in 2003 with his U-haul trailer and reminding his fans how he wouldn’t be “Jake Owen” without his fans and his band.
