We sat down with Phil Vassar when he was in town for a few questions!

Is it you on your twitter or someone else? It’s either me or “One” of me

What is your favorite “downtime” activity?
Nothing, It’s very rare for free time, but I like to spend time with my two kids, hang out or swim you know “Dad Daughter Stuff.”

Where were you when you first heard yourself on the radio? On a song I wrote ….. I was in Nashville, on my way to a songwriting appointment… I heard my first single I was listening & singing along.  Then realized, “wait, this is my song!”  My own song I recorded…I heard “Carlene” on the radio in Lynchburg, the clock radio woke me up & I thought I was dreaming.

Number one thing on your Bucket List? Umm…Whats her name? (laughs)  Actually I’d like to go to the Great Wall of China, I’m not a skydiver or anything like that.

What song of yours do you wish that you wouldn’t have passed up on, that another artist recorded? None of them…I tried & recorded all of my songs, but business didn’t like them too much.  My artist friends liked them & recorded them, and I was very lucky that they did.

How do you feel about being one of the only guys in Country Music who doesn’t play guitar?
Well…They tried to get me to play guitar and to wear a hat and all that stuff in Nashville, you know to be like everyone else.  I do play guitar, but just not very well.  I pretty much suck at it.  I’ve always been a piano fan, and it’s cool to be one of the only ones to play the piano.

Is there a celebrity that you’ve come across that you were star-struck about?
Yes Bruce Springsteen was one of them for sure.
