As we reported yesterday, Whitney Duncan took some heat from one of South Florida’s radio stations (107.9 WIRK – West Palm Beach) for her album fundraising campaign on kickstarter.com. Since then, she has had dialogue with the station via twitter and is schedule to call in to talk about her campaign this Friday at 8am. Meanwhile, the other South Florida station (99.9 WKIS – Miami) interviewed her off the air and posted it as a podcast on their website, after they too had questioned Whitney’s motives. While the publicity for Whitney’s campaign hasn’t all been positive, it has helped boost her fund-raising totals to over 75% of her goal in just 8 days, with 22 days to go. As we pointed out yesterday, she’s raising money to fund a new album, and various donation levels come with various prizes…you can earn an autographed 8×10, a phone call, or even a night out on the town doing karaoke with Whitney herself!
