By participating in the 2011-3 mile Walk/Run this Saturday, April 30th at John U Lloyd State Park on the ocean in Dania Beach.
You’ll be helping Thousand of Children, like Haylee:
Molested and beaten by her own Father, Haylee might have died if Kids in Distress hadn’t intervened. “I will cut you or shoot you if you say anything” That’s what Haylee’s Father told her after he molested her. Not once, not twice – her whole life. Child Protective Services brought Haylee to Kids In Distress. She was filthy, had dark purple bags under her eyes, and worse – had deep ugly bruises around her mouth. At first she was terrified, but after she was given clean clothes, food and a safe place to sleep, Haylee started to open up. She began talking to her therapist and staff, she started interacting with children her age. And best of all, Haylee started to laugh. Little by little, Haylee transformed from a broken human being, to a warm, vibrant littl e girl. KID takes in children like Haylee every day. Broken and battered – they never did anything to deserve the abuse they suffer. KID welcomes them with open arms and let them know they’re loved. That’s why Kids in Distress needs our help! Together we can help Haylee and many other children to heal from the trauma they suffered. !

KID Fun Run: Begins shortly after 9 am. There will be a 100 M Dash for 6 yrs & under and 1/4 mile run for 6-12yrs
Online Registration Closes on April 29th at 5 pm
Fee: $35 • 17 and Under: $10
After April 28th Fees: $45 and $15 for 17 and under
Event Day Registration opens at 7:00 am
Runners will pick up bib number and timing chip the day of the event at pre-registration area Runners begin promptly at 8:00 am, and Walkers at 8:10 am
After you complete the Route, there were be a Tug of War and 100 yard relay competition for teams and beach boot camp and hula hoop contests for individuals.
Everyone celebrates at the post event breakfast. It is a great time for all ages!
